Clean Solution Strainers

CAUTION: Spray system can contain hazardous material which can cause serious injury or death to you or others. Wear protective clothing, eye wear, and gloves. Clean strainer in an area where people, animals, vegetation, and water supply, and so on, cannot be contaminated.

NOTE: Clean solution strainers if the following conditions exist:

  • Pump fails to obtain maximum flow rate
  • Pump fails to maintain dead head pressure
  • Application rates fluctuate

  1. Verify if the suction valve (A) is in solution tank position.

    A - Suction Valve

    B - Pressure Bypass/Rinse Valve

  2. Turn pressure bypass/rinse valve (B) to spray position.

CAUTION: Do not close the spray boom shutoff valve with the solution pump running. It can trap pressure in the system and can make it dangerous to open strainers for cleaning.

  3. Close spray boom shutoff valve (A).

    B - Ring

    C - Housing

  4. Remove plugs (B) and drain solution into a suitable container.

CAUTION: Do not drain solution onto the ground. Drain into a suitable container and in an area where people, animals, vegetation, and water supply, and so on, cannot be contaminated.

  5. Unscrew ring (C) and remove strainer cap.

  6. Remove meshes filters and wash with clean water.

  7. Install meshes filters and strainer cap.

IMPORTANT: Pay attention not to reverse the meshes of the filters. The left-hand side solution strainer uses 80 mesh and the right-hand side solution strainer uses 50 mesh.

  8. Install plug.

  9. Open strainer valve.
