Perform Break-In Checks
IMPORTANT: Initial break-in service interval must last at least
100 hours and applies to all new or rebuilt engines.
The initial break-in period with John Deere Break-In Plus
oil is 100 hours to assure surface mating of the engine rings and
liners.
During the first 100 hours, perform the following services:
First 10 Hours

Check the engine oil level.

Check the coolant level.
-
Check hydrostatic/hydraulic oil level.

Drain the fuel filters.
-
Check tires condition.
-
Check and adjust air springs.
-
Check solution tank straps.
-
Tighten spray boom assembly.
NOTE: Check the service procedures in Service—Daily or
Every 10 Hours Section, Service—Weekly or Every 50 Hours Section
and Service—Every 250 Hours Section.
First 50 Hours

Change planetary hub oil.
-
Visually inspect suspension rod bushings.
NOTE: Check the service procedures in Service—First 50
Hours Section and Service—Every 500 Hours Section.
First 100 Hours

Change the engine oil.
-
Replace the engine oil filter.

Check suspension rod screws torque.
-
Check shim gap on axle tread.
-
Inspect machine for loose hardware.
NOTE: Check the service procedures in Service—First 100
Hours Section.
NOTE: After perform break-in checks, reset service hours to
zero. (See Resetting Service Interval Counter in SprayStar Section.)
