Replace Air Drier Cartridge

CAUTION: The on-board air system is charged at 689—896 kPa (6.89—8.96 bar) (100—130 psi). To avoid injury to yourself or others, wear safety goggles and gloves. Also be sure that others are clear of the area before relieving pressure.

  1. Open drain valve (A) to relieve air system pressure.

  2. Remove the air drier cartridge (B) by turning it counterclockwise. Properly discard the air drier cartridge (B).

  3. Remove and properly discard the O-ring (C).

    NOTE: If there is excessive oil present, compressor may require servicing.

  4. Clean top surface of the adapter plate and threaded stud.

  5. Apply a light coat of grease (supplied with the new air drier cartridge) to O-ring.

  6. Install O-ring on the adapter plate.

  7. Apply a generous coat of grease to the gasket surface of the new air drier cartridge.

  8. Install the new air drier cartridge into adapter plate by turning clockwise until gasket contacts adapter plate. Tighten cartridge with an additional 1/2 turn.

    IMPORTANT: Take care not to overtighten.
