Replace Fuel Filters

CAUTION: Always shut off the engine and remove the ignition key before servicing the fuel filters.

  1. Park machine and shut off the engine.

  2. Remove the ignition key from the key switch.

  3. Access the engine compartment. (See Access to Engine Compartment in Access to Service Points section.)

  4. Clean the fuel filters.

  5. Drain the fuel filters. (See Service—Daily or Every 10 Hours Section.)

  6. Disconnect the water-in-fuel sensor (D).

    F - Water Separator Bowl

    IMPORTANT: Always replace both fuel filters at the same time.



  7. Loosen the retaining ring (E).

  8. Remove the water separator bowl (F).

  9. Loosen the retaining rings (A) of each fuel filter.

  10. Remove the primary fuel filter (C) and secondary fuel filter (B).

  11. Install the water separator bowl (F) on the new primary fuel filter.

  12. Tighten the retaining ring (E).

  13. Coat the sealing rings of the fuel filters with clean engine oil.

  14. Install the new fuel filters. Align the marks on the filters with the marks on the housing.

  15. Tighten the retaining rings (A).

  16. Connect the water-in-fuel sensor (D).

  17. Bleed the fuel system. (See Bleed the Fuel System in Service—As Required section.)
