Detaching Corn Head from Feeder House

causym CAUTION: Do not leave drive shafts on combine. Personal injury or machine damage may occur if feeder house is accidentally engaged.

1. Disconnect drive shafts from feeder house at the quick disconnect coupler (A) on l.h. and r.h. side of feeder house.

2. Place drive shafts in storage position (B).

IMPORTANT: Latch pins are not to be actuated with header on the ground. If multi-coupler must be actuated with header on ground, unhook cable from handle.

NOTE: Latch pins should be fully retracted when handle is all the way up against the stop. Adjust cable mounting if latch pins are not fully retracted (see Single Point Latching-Adjusting).

3. Raise handle to disconnect multi-coupler.

4. Disconnect multi-coupler from combine and place in storage position (C).

5. Lower the corn head to the ground.

6. Shut off the combine's engine, remove the key from the ignition and apply the parking brake.

NOTE: Leave the corn head standing at a height that allows the header to be re-attached to a combine at a later time. Never select a height that is too low.

7. At left and right, lower jackstands (A) and lock them at a suitable height. To do this, pull out spring-loaded pin (B) and let it re-engage when the jackstand is at the correct height.

8. Sound horn, start engine, lower feeder house until hooks (C) are below top beam of head, and drive combine slowly rearward.
