How to use the coupler hooks

LX1031609-UN-18JAN05
A - Lever
B - Ball
C - Pin
The couplers are operated by means of lever (A), which can be
actuated either by hand or by a control cable.
Make absolutely certain that the coupler hooks are
locked correctly: Lever (A) must be in proper contact
with the coupler hook, there must be no play noticeable at ball (B)
and pin (C) must enclose the ball.
If coupler hooks have a control cable, pay attention to the
cable routing after the implement has been attached. If the cable
droops excessively or gets tangled in the undergrowth or branches,
the hooks may be opened by accident.
The coupler hooks can be locked in their "open" position. To close the coupler hook again, first pull the lever up at
an oblique angle.
Attaching implement:

LX1031673-UN-19FEB03
A - Stabilizer bar
-
Adjust draft links to the dimension for Category II implements
by means of stabilizer bar (A) (if equipped).
-
With draft links lowered, reverse tractor until the coupler
hooks are below the implement hitch pins.
-
Slowly raise draft links until pins are engaged in coupler hooks
and locked into position.
-
Adjust center link to the required length and attach to top
attaching point of implement mast.
Make absolutely certain that implement is correctly
locked to coupler hooks.
Lock for draft link hooks

LX1031610-UN-18JAN05
A - Lock parts kit
When implements with asymmetrical load (e.g. side-mounted
mowing unit) are attached, or when driving through high-growing bushes
and trees (e.g. when working in the forest), the draft links must
be secured against opening accidentally.
Use John Deere AL165485 lock parts kit at both of the coupler
hooks.
