This three-point hitch can be operated with SCV I.

Lock for draft link hooks

A - Lock parts kit

When implements with asymmetrical load (e.g. side-mounted mowing unit) are attached, or when driving through high-growing bushes and trees (e.g. when working in the forest), the draft links must be secured against opening accidentally.

Use John Deere AL165485 lock parts kit at both of the coupler hooks.

Multi-valve

A - Oil flow blocked

B - Raising with oil pressure

C - Raising and lowering with oil pressure

The additional multi-valve (A) allows the following settings:

  • Oil flow blocked (A)
  • Raising with oil pressure, lowering with deadweight of implement (B)
  • Raising and lowering with oil pressure (C)

If SCV I is equipped with additional couplers towards the rear (for operation of rear implements), the multi-valve must be blocked (A) before rear implements are operated using SCV I.

When a chain is used to limit the cutting height on a mowing unit, avoid damage by selecting setting (B). Additionally, set SCV I to float position to lower the mowing unit.

Couplers

LX1037575
LX1037575-UN-10MAR06

A - SCV I coupler

B - SCV II/III couplers

Oil pressure is available at coupler (A) when the hitch is raised.

Couplers (B) are provided with oil via SCV II or III.

SCV II or III must not be equipped with additional couplers towards the rear.

The hydraulic system has a maximum system pressure of 20000 kPa (200 bar; 2900 psi). For your own protection and to assure proper functioning of the system, use only genuine John Deere parts.

The couplers allow the hydraulic hose to be connected and disconnected only if no pressure is present. For coupler (A) this means that the front hitch must be lowered.

To connect the hose union, press it firmly into the coupler.

To disconnect the hose, give it a firm pull.

Brackets for mowing unit suspension (if equipped)

LX1037576

A - Opening for chain

B - Bore for spring

Opening (A) allows attachment of the chain for cutting height limit.

In this case, avoid damage by selecting setting (B) for the multi-valve. Additionally, set SCV I to float position to lower the mowing unit.

Bore (B) allows attachment of the suspension spring.

Safety

It is important to observe the maximum permissible axle loads and the load capacity of the tires when using the front hitch.

A front-mounted implement adversely affects the driving characteristics of the tractor. Adjust vehicle handling to the change in driving dynamics of the tractor.

Always lower front-mounted implements to the ground, when the tractor is left unattended.

Lower front-mounted implement to the ground and stop the engine before connecting the implement to one of the front quick couplers.

Always bear in mind that the dimensions of the tractor front have changed, especially when leaving the farm or the fields and on roads and junctions. If in doubt, ask for a second person to assist.

Comply with local regulations for lighting requirements. Headlights and turn signals may be concealed by the front-mounted implement. In this case, use additional lighting.

If not in use, the front hitch should be folded up.
