Testing the Rear Power-Take-Off/Reverse Implement Option (PTO/RIO)
Switch
CAUTION: Avoid Injury! Rotating blades are dangerous. Children
or bystanders may be injured by runover and rotating blades. Before backing up, carefully check the area around the machine.
Test 1

Sit on operator’s seat.

Move the transmission range shift lever to the N (neutral) position.

Engage PTO.
-
Turn key to the START position.
Result: Engine must not crank.
Test 2

Sit on operator’s seat.
-
Lock park brake.
-
Start engine.
-
Move transmission range shift lever to L (low) position.
-
Set PTO Selector Lever to Rear PTO only.

Engage PTO.
-
Unlock park brake.
-
Look behind and down before backing up to be sure there are
no bystanders and there is a clear path.
Result: Machine should begin to travel
in reverse and PTO will remain engaged.
