Removing and Installing Battery

Removing:

1. Park machine safely. (See Parking Safely in Safety Section.)

2. Raise hood.

   A - Hose Clamp

   B - Air Filter Canister

   C - Bolt

   D - Nut

   E - Grill Support Rod

   F - Negative (-) Cable

   G - Positive Terminal Cover

   H - Positive (+) Cable

   I - Hold Down Bracket

   J - Vent Tube

   Loosen hose clamp (A) and remove air filter canister (B) to access battery compartment.

4. Loosen bolts (C) and nuts (D).

5. Move grill support rod (E) forward for easier battery removal.

6. Disconnect black negative (-) cable (F) from battery terminal first.

7. Slide red positive terminal cover (G) back and disconnect red positive (+) cable (H) from battery terminal.

8. Remove hold down bracket (I) from both sides of battery tray.

9. Pull battery vent tube (J) from battery tray.

10. Remove battery.

Installing:

1. Position battery in machine.

2. Route battery vent tube (J) through hole in battery tray.

3. Install hold down brackets (I) securing battery to battery tray.

4. Connect positive (+) cable (H) to battery first, then attach negative (-) cable (C) to battery.

5. Apply spray lubricant on battery terminals to help prevent corrosion.

6. Position red positive battery terminal cover (G) on red positive (+) cable.

7. Tighten nuts (D) and bolts (C), securing grill support rod (E).

8. Install air filter canister (B) and tighten hose clamp (A).

9. Lower hood.
