Replace Shear Bolt

1. NOTE: A shear bolt (A) is installed in each end-of-auger shaft. If the attachment hits a solid object, the shear bolt breaks. Shear bolt protects the auger and attachment from serious damages.

   If the attachment hits a solid object, and the shear bolt breaks, stop the attachment immediately.

2. Stop the engine. Lock park brake. Lower attachment.

3. Find and correct cause for shearing.

   A - Shear Bolt (0.25 in x 1.375 in, grade 5)

   Remove the shear bolt (A) stored in auger housing.

5. Install a new shear bolt.
