Start the Engine
Prevent asphyxiation by providing adequate ventilation.
If operating indoors, use an exhaust pipe extension to remove the
exhaust fumes or open doors and windows to ventilate the area.
If operating the machine in temperatures below -18°C (0°F),
installation of an engine block heater and hydraulic oil heater is
recommended. If temperature is below 0°C (32°F), see Cold-Weather
Start procedure in this section.

Fuel Shutoff Valve
A - Fuel Shutoff Valve
Open the fuel shutoff valve (A).

Lock the park brake.

B - PTO/RIO Switch
C - Hand Throttle
Move the transmission range-shift lever (A) to the N position.

Confirm the PTO/RIO switch (B) is in the disengaged/off position.

Avoid crushing injury! Check that the area is clear
of bystanders before lowering implements to the ground.
Lower any implements to the ground.

Set the hand throttle (C) to the 1/2-3/4 position.

Turn the ignition key switch to the ON position and verify that
all indicator lights and gauges are working:

All indicator lights illuminate.

All gauges do a full sweep and return to normal.

Avoid damage to the starter! Operating the starter
for more than 20 seconds at a time results in damage to the starter. If the engine does not start, wait two minutes before trying
again.
Turn key switch to the START position. Release the key when
the engine starts.

Check the indicator lights:
-
The oil pressure light turns off after 5 seconds of the engine
running. If the light it does not turn off, the engine oil pressure
is too low. Stop the engine and check for the cause.

The alternator/battery charging light turns off after 10 seconds
of the engine running. If it does not turn off, set the engine speed
at full throttle.

Run the engine at the 1/2 fast position for 1 minute without
load.
