Operate the Hydrostatic Transmission
-
Avoid damage! Select the proper speed range for the
job:
-
Never overload the engine by lugging the machine at low idle
speeds.
-
Raise the engine speed to match the expected load. If a slight
increase in engine rpm occurs simultaneously with moving throttle
lever (B) forward, the engine is not overloaded.
The transmission range-shift lever (A) provides two-speed ranges
and is used in conjunction with the forward travel pedal (C), and
the reverse travel pedal (D).

A - Transmission Range-Shift Lever
B - Hand Throttle
C - Forward Pedal
D - Reverse Pedal
Match the work application to the correct transmission range
speed.
-
L – Low speed is used for tilling hard soil, mowing long grass,
or heavy hauling. The machine speed is decreased, but machine power
is increased.
-
N – Neutral position. When starting the engine, the lever must
be in the N (neutral) position.
-
H – High speed is used for light tilling and hauling, mowing
short grass, and transport. The machine speed is increased, but machine
power is decreased.
Stop the machine before changing the transmission range.
