Adjust Front Axle Thrust Bolt Torque

Adjust bolt torque at required service interval to prevent excessive forward or rearward movement of front axle.

    B - Thrust Bolt

    Park machine safely. (See Parking Safely in the Safety section.)



  2. Avoid injury! The machine can fall or slip from an unsafe lifting device or supports.

    • Use a safe lifting device rated for the load to be lifted.
    • Lower machine onto jackstands or other stable supports and block wheels before servicing.

    Raise front axle off ground to take machine weight off the front axle.

  3. Grease front and rear trunnions.

  4. Loosen jam nut (A).

  5. Tighten thrust bolt (B) to specification.

    Thrust BoltTorque30 N·m (22.12 lb.-ft.)

    Do not overtighten.

  6. Oscillate axle from stop to stop 3 times. Check torque.

  7. Hold thrust bolt and tighten jam nut to specification.

    Jam NutTorque70 N·m (51.63 lb.-ft.)

  8. Lower front axle to ground.
