Storing
CAUTION: Avoid injury! Fuel vapors are explosive and flammable.
Engine exhaust fumes contain carbon monoxide and can cause serious
illness or death:

Run the engine only long enough to move the machine to or from
storage.

Machine fires and structure fires can occur if:
-
If machine is stored before allowing it to cool.
-
If debris is not removed from around the engine and muffler.
-
If stored near combustible materials.
-
Do not store vehicle with fuel in the tank inside a building
where fumes may reach an open flame or spark.
-
Allow the engine to cool before storing the machine in any enclosure.
-
Position boards under bucket and backhoe frame to prevent corrosion.
-
Store backhoe in clean, dry place.
-
Keep hydraulic hoses off ground and not kinked.
-
Clean backhoe with water and air pressure.
-
Paint worn or scratched areas.
-
Lubricate all grease points.
-
Keep swing lock pin in locked position.
-
Coat exposed cylinder rods and hooks on the backhoe with thin
film of grease.
-
Put waterproof cover over backhoe if stored outside.
Storing Backhoe Thumb (If Equipped)

Storage Position for Thumb
To move the thumb (A) into the storage position, curl the
bucket out and hold until both the bucket and thumb cylinder are fully
retracted. Then push the knob (B) on the thumb valve down. Thumb cylinder
is out of the hydraulic circuit and the bucket operates as normal.
