Preparing Backhoe Hydraulics

IMPORTANT: Improperly connecting hydraulic hoses may cause serious damage to backhoe control valve or other hydraulic components.

1. Clean backhoe control valve.

2. Remove conversion plug from side of control valve.

3. Install large O-ring (A) against hex shoulder on power beyond sleeve (B). Install back-up washer (C) and small O-ring (D) against shoulder (E) of power beyond sleeve.

4. Install power beyond sleeve in conversion port.

5. Install 90° adapter union into power beyond sleeve. Positioned downward.

6. Install long 90° fitting onto 90° fitting. Position towards rear of backhoe frame.

causym CAUTION: HOSE SLEEVES ARE INSTALLED TO PROTECT OPERATOR FROM ESCAPING PRESSURISED FLUID. IF THE HOSE SLEEVE BECOMES DAMAGED OR LOST, REPLACE HOSE SLEEVE AND PLASTIC TIES IMMEDIATELY.

IMPORTANT: Ensure entire length of hose is covered by hose sleeve and hose sleeve is properly secured by tie straps.

7. Install hose sleeve on 910 mm (36 in.) hose with female quick-disconnect coupler. Secure with plastic ties.

8. Install hose to 90° fitting at conversion port. Route hose through mainframe to rear of backhoe.

9. Install bumper plate and two cap screws, washers and nuts to cover control valve.
