Preparing Tractor Hydraulics (5105, 5205 Tractors)

Prepare Tractor

1. Park tractor on level surface and engage park brake. Place wheel chocks or wood blocks in front of and behind left rear wheel.

2. With engine running, fully raise rockshaft.

3. Stop engine. Operate SCV lever(s), if equipped, to release hydraulic pressure in the system.

4. Raise right side rear wheel with floor jack and remove wheel. Support right side rear axle with jackstand and remove floor jack.

5. Remove right side rear fender.

Install Inlet Housing, End Cap and Adapter Fittings (Early Tractors or Tractors Without SCV(s) and Without Mid-Mount Control Valve)

1. Disconnect inlet housing supply line (A).

2. Remove and retain adapter fitting (B) from inlet housing.

3. Remove and retain socket head screws (C).

4. Remove and discard inlet housing (D).

5. Clean mating surfaces of new inlet housing and right side of rockshaft. Inspect O-rings (E) for wear or damage. Replace if necessary.

4. Connect hydraulic hoses and install sump return quick-disconnect coupler. See procedure below.

Connect Hydraulic Hoses

IMPORTANT: To prevent tractor hydraulic system damage, pressure hose from Step 1 and pressure return hose from Step 2 MUST be connected together.

1. Assemble 180 cm (71 in.) hydraulic pressure line with female quick-disconnect coupler, 90° fitting, hose cover, tie straps, and caution tag. Ensure caution tag is attached to female quick-disconnect coupler.

2. Assemble 74 cm (29 in.) hydraulic pressure return hose with male quick-disconnect coupler, hose cover and tie straps.
