Transporting Backhoe

causym CAUTION: TO HELP PREVENT INJURY WHILE TRANSPORTING BACKHOE:

LOOK FOR PEOPLE OR OBSTACLES BEFORE YOU CHANGE DIRECTIONS.

LOCK BACKHOE IN TRANSPORT POSITION. SEE STEPS BELOW.

KEEP AS FAR TO THE RIGHT AS POSSIBLE ON ROADS.

GO SLOW: USE SAFE TRAVEL SPEED.

1. Put backhoe in TRANSPORT position:

  • Raise boom all the way up, and center it.
  • Retract dipperstick.
  • Curl bucket back into dipperstick.
  • Raise stabilizers (A) to highest position.

2. Stop engine. Engage park brake or place tractor in park.

3. Install swing lock pin (B).

4. Install boom lock pin (C).

5. Install Slow Moving Vehicle (SMV) sign (D) on bracket (E) on bucket cylinder.

6. Pivot backhoe seat (F) forward to the vertical position.
