Installing Rockshaft Attachment (RSA) Mounting Plate (4300, 4400 Tractors)

1. Raise rear of tractor and support rear axles with jack stands.

2. Remove rear tires.

3. Using a 35 mm (1-3/8 in.) or larger hole saw, cut a hole (A) through both rear fenders in front of ROPS to gain access to axle flange bolts.

Alternatively, the RSA mounting plates can be attached to the tractor by removing the fender. This allows access to the cap screws.

4. Remove M16 cap screws (B) from both axle flanges.

5. Insert RSA mounting plates (C) from rear of tractor. Avoid pinching electrical wires.

IMPORTANT: Always use hardened washers included with kit. If standard washers are substituted, the cap screw heads will dig into the washer faces and loosen as backhoe is used.

Do not overtighten the cap screws. Damage to the transaxle case will result.

6. Secure each RSA mounting plate with two M16 x 130 cap screws (D), and two M16 x 140 cap screws (E), all with hardened flat washers. On hydro tractors only, use two hardened flat washers (F) on the left side only, as shown.

Tighten cap screws to specification.

Specification

Cap Screw -Torque 258 N·m (190 lb-ft)

7. Install fender if removed.

8. Install rear wheels and tires to the widest offset for maximum stability. Tighten wheel bolts to specification.

Wheel Bolt -Torque 155 N·m (114 lb-ft)
