Checking Spark Plug

  1. Park the machine safely. (See Parking Safely in the SAFETY section.)

  2. Let engine cool.

  3. Tip seats forward.

  4. Raise and secure cargo box.

  5. Disconnect spark plug wire.

  6. Remove spark plug using appropriate spark plug socket.

  7. Inspect spark plug for:

    • Cracked porcelain.
    • Pitted or damaged electrodes.
    • Other wear or damage.

  8. Clean spark plug carefully with a wire brush.

  9. NOTE: In Canada, replace with resistor spark plug only.

    Replace spark plug if necessary.

    Check and adjust spark plug gap (A) to specification:

  11. Install and tighten spark plug. Tighten to specification.

  12. Install spark plug wire.

  13. Lower the cargo box.

  14. Tip seats back.
