Replacing Fuel Filter

CAUTION: Fuel vapors are explosive and flammable:

  • Do not smoke while handling fuel.
  • Keep fuel away from flames or sparks.
  • Shut off engine before servicing.
  • Cool engine before servicing.
  • Work in a well-ventilated area.
  • Clean up spilled fuel immediately.

  1. Park the machine safely. (See Parking Safely in the SAFETY section.)

  2. Let engine cool.

  3. Tip seats forward.

  4. Raise and secure cargo box.

  5. Remove engine access panel.

    Locate the fuel filter (A).



  7. Check element of fuel filter for debris. Replace if dirt or sediment is visible on element.

  8. Slide hose clamps away from the fuel filter.

  9. Place a drain pan or cloth under hoses to catch any fuel left in hoses.

  10. Disconnect hoses from the filter.

  11. NOTE: Install fuel filter with arrow pointing in direction of fuel flow towards the engine.

    Install new filter.

  12. Connect hoses to new filter.

  13. Install clamps.

  14. Install engine access panel.

  15. Lower the cargo box.

  16. Tip seats back.
