Cleaning Air Intake Screens
CAUTION: Compressed air can cause debris to fly a long distance.

Clear work area of bystanders.

Wear eye protection when using compressed air for cleaning purposes.

Reduce compressed air pressure to 210 kPa (2.1 bar) (30 psi).
IMPORTANT: An obstructed air intake screen can cause engine
damage due to overheating. Keep air intake screen and other external
surfaces of the engine, including cooling fins, clean at all times
to allow adequate air intake. Turn off engine before removing
intake screens to avoid drawing debris into the radiator.

Park machine safely. (See Parking Safely in the SAFETY Section.)

Raise hood.

Clean air intake screens (A) on the side of hood using a brush,
cloth, or water.

Remove pedestal screen by rotating knob (B) counterclockwise.

Pull off screen.
-
Clean off pedestal screen by removing pedestal screen and using
brush, cloth, or water and also remove any buildup of grass around
radiator compartment.

Lower hood.
