Install Mower Discharge Chute (48 and 54 Mower)

CAUTION: Rotating blades can throw objects or debris. Do not operate mower without discharge chute or entire grass catcher in place.

  1. Remove tie strap (A) that is securing the discharge chute to mower deck during shipping.

  2. Remove two nuts (B) and two bolts (C) from the hinge; retain for installing the discharge chute.

  3. Hold mower discharge chute firmly on mower deck when installing.

    Install discharge chute to mower deck with two bolts (C) and lock nuts (B).


  5. Tighten nuts to specification.

  6. Check hinge action by opening and releasing the chute. The discharge chute must spring back completely to the lowered position.
