Transmission and Hydraulic Oil

Avoid damage! Do not mix transmission oils. Use John Deere Low Viscosity Hy-Gard™ transmission oil to reduce transmission noise, and to increase response time for the hydraulics and power steering. Do not use Type F (Red) transmission fluid.

Use of John Deere Hy-Gard™ is allowed per the temperature recommendation chart.

Use oil viscosity based on the expected air temperature range during the period between oil changes.

John Deere Hy-Gard™ and John Deere Low Viscosity Hy-Gard™ branded oil is specially formulated to provide maximum protection against mechanical wear, corrosion, and foaming.

The following oil is preferred:

• John Deere JD Hy-Gard™
• John Deere Low Viscosity Hy-Gard™

Other oils may be used if they meet one of the following:

• John Deere Standard JDM J20C
• John Deere Standard JDM J20D
