Install Mower Discharge Chute (42 Mower)

CAUTION: Avoid Injury! Rotating blades can throw objects or debris. Do not operate mower without discharge chute or entire grass catcher in place.

A - Tie Strap

B - Hinge Rod

1. Remove and discard tie strap (A) from discharge chute and mower deck.

2. Remove carriage bolts and nuts from hinge rod (B).

   C - Spring

   D - Carriage Bolt

   E - Nut

   Install hinge rod (A) into bracket (B).

4. Verify edge of spring (C) is on top of mower deck.

5. Install carriage bolts (D) through holes in mower deck and hinge rod with nuts (E)

6. Tighten nuts on discharge chute to specification.

   Lock nut	Torque	20 N·m (15 lb·ft)

7. Check hinge action by opening and releasing the chute. The discharge chute must spring back completely to the lowered position.
