Replacing Fuel Filter (X710, X730, X734, X738, X739)

  1. CAUTION: Fuel vapors are explosive and flammable:

    • Do not smoke while handling fuel.
    • Keep fuel away from flames or sparks.
    • Shut off engine before servicing.
    • Cool engine before servicing.
    • Work in a well-ventilated area.
    • Clean up spilled fuel immediately.

    NOTE: Change filter when fuel is low.

    Park machine safely. (See Parking Safely in the SAFETY section.)

  2. Allow engine to cool.

  3. Raise hood.

    Turn off valve (A)



  2. Remove clamps (B).

  3. Put drain pan under filter.

  4. Remove filter (C).

  5. Install new filter.

  6. Install clamps (A).

  7. Turn on valve (A).

  8. Check for leaks.

  9. Lower hood.


X730, X734, X738, X739

  1. Relieve fuel line pressure:

      Loosen fuel pressure relief screw (A) on left side of machine to relieve pressure.

    2. Tighten relief screw.

    Remove push pin (B) on both sides of fuel filter on right side of machine.



  3. Put drain pan under filter.

  4. Push in on release mechanisms (C) to disconnect fuel line couplers from filter.

  5. IMPORTANT: Incorrect installation of fuel filter may cause engine damage. Install the filter with the arrow pointing in the direction of fuel flow (towards the engine) for proper operation.

    Connect fuel line couplers to new filter making sure filter arrow (D) is pointed in the direction of fuel flow.

  6. Check for leaks.

  7. Lower hood.
