Replacing Drive Belt

  1. Raise snowblower and temporarily block up to support.

  2. Remove drive belt from the machine drive sheave.

  3. Remove block and lower snowblower.

  4. Loosen nuts (A) on idlers (B) to loosen belt guides (C).

  5. NOTE: Additional brackets and belt guides may need to be removed to remove the drive belt from the snowblower drive sheave (E).

    Remove belt (D) from snowblower drive sheave (E).

  6. Remove belt from idlers.

  7. Remove old belt.

  8. Install new belt:

    • Install belt on snowblower drive sheave (E), from below, with the V-shaped side of the belt in the groove of sheave.
    • Route belt to inside of idlers (B), with the flat side of the belt against idlers.
    • Position belt guides (C) close to, but not touching, belt. Tighten nuts (A).
    • Make sure that belt is free of twists.

  9. Raise and block up snowblower.

  10. IMPORTANT: Avoid damage! Check position of belt guides after installing attachment on machine. Guides must not touch belt.

    Install belt on the machine drive sheave.

  11. Remove block and lower snowblower.
