Adjusting Lift Pedal Spring Tension

NOTE: Too much spring tension can cause blade to “float” along surface being worked.

  1. Park machine safely. (See Parking Safely in the SAFETY section.)

  2. Lower blade.

    Be sure lift spring adjustment bar is set to 48 in. blade setting (A).



  4. Adjust tension by rotating adjusting bolt (B) (in right front frame tunnel) clockwise to increase tension, and counterclockwise to decrease tension.

  5. If the blade lift effort is too high, adjust spring tension. Rotate adjusting bolt (B) (in right front frame tunnel) clockwise to increase tension, and counterclockwise to decrease tension.


Lube Pivot Point

NOTE: If lift effort is too high, apply John Deere approved lubricant to pivot point (A) at the right-hand end of the tractor brake shaft.
