Using Rear Lock
CAUTION: Avoid injury! Driving at high speeds with Rear Lock
engaged can result in loss of steering control. Do not turn machine
with Rear Lock engaged while operating machine at high speeds or on
slopes.
Rear Lock provides better traction when rear wheels start to
slip. Engaging Rear Lock causes both rear wheels to turn together
at equal speed.
Engaging Rear Lock:
IMPORTANT: Avoid damage! Incorrectly using Rear Lock can damage
the transaxle. Stop machine before engaging or disengaging
Rear Lock.
-
Stop or reduce engine speed to 1/3 throttle or less.
-
Pull 2WD/4WD lever down to the 4WD + Rear Lock position:
-
Rear Lock remains engaged as long as lever is in 4WD + Rear
Lock.
Disengaging Rear Lock
NOTE: To ensure true disengagement of Rear Lock, torque on both
axles must be equalized.
-
Stop machine travel.
-
Push 2WD/4WD lever up to center 4WD or top 2WD position.
