Replacing Shear Bolts

MXT007239-UN-15MAY13
A - Bolt, Auger Shaft, M6x45
B - Bolt, Impeller, M6x45
IMPORTANT: Avoid damage! Replacement shear bolts must be same
as original shear bolts on attachment: • Softer bolts
can shear too easily.
• Harder bolts may not shear and attachment can be damaged.
-
Lower snowblower to ground.
-
Stop machine.
-
Lock park brake.
-
Remove key.
-
Inspect to determine which shear bolt has broken. There are
four shear bolts:
-
One bolt (A) and M6 nut on each auger shaft.
-
Two bolts (B) and M6 locknuts securing the impeller to the
auger drive shaft.
-
Find and correct the cause for shearing.
-
Line up auger or impeller properly. Install new shear bolts
that are same size as original. M6x45 in impeller and M6x45 full thread
in the auger.
