Towing Machine Equipped with Tow Bar

causym CAUTION: DO NOT exceed maximum towing speed of 32 km/h (20 mph) or you can lose control of machine, causing severe injury or death to you or others.

1. Be sure SMV sign (A) is installed on boom (or rear of machine).

2. Stop machine on level ground. Set parking brake.

3. Depress switch (A) to position boom for transport. Shut-off engine. Leave hydro lever in neutral position when towing.

IMPORTANT: Boom can strike overhead objects causing damage to boom. Place boom in lowest position when transporting machine.

4. Attach tow bar (A) to front of machine with J-pin and spring lock pin.

5. Attach tow bar and safety chain to towing vehicle.

6. Connect warning light harness (from towing vehicle) to tow valve harness plug located at front of machine.

causym CAUTION: Losing control of machine can cause serious injury or death to you or others. Only tow machine when steering bypass valve is in "TOW" position.

7. Remove left-hand screen and move valve lever (A) to "TOW" position.

NOTE: Tow valve prevents starting circuit (electrical) and steering system (hydraulic) from operating. Disengage valve after towing to return these systems to normal operations.

causym CAUTION: Sudden machine movement can cause serious injury of death to you or others. To prevent machine from rolling, engage and disengage hubs only when machine is attached to towing vehicle.

IMPORTANT: Before towing machine, disengage planetary hubs on both drive wheels or severe damage to hydrostatic system will result.

8. Disengage power hub using a large screwdriver or hex socket, push in pin assembly (A) to contact surface of shim plate. Rotate clockwise to stop and release.

NOTE: Shoulder of spacer is now seated in counterbore of plate in pin assembly.

9. Engage power hub by pushing in on pin assembly and rotating counterclockwise and releasing. Pin assembly should move out approximately 19 mm (3/4 in.) with spring pressure. Slight rocking of wheel may be required to release.

NOTE: Do not pull pin out manually.

10. Start engine of towing vehicle. Check that turn signals and warning lights (A) on both the towing vehicle and machine operate together.

11. WIDE AXLE ONLY: If machine does not track directly behind towing vehicle, loosen mounting hardware (A) and reposition hitch bar bracket for straight ahead towing. Tighten hardware after adjustment.
