Checking Hydrostatic and Hydraulic Oil Level

CAUTION: Explosive release of fluids from pressurized hydrostatic and hydraulic oil system can cause serious burns.

If cap is to be removed, do not remove if hot. Wait until cap is cool enough to touch with bare hands. Slowly loosen cap to first stop to relieve pressure before removing completely.

NOTE: Retract all hydraulic cylinders if checking oil level with boom attached. Tread adjust cylinders should also be retracted when checking oil level.

Check oil level with all cylinders (boom and tread adjust-if equipped) retracted. Oil should be visible in sight glass (A). Add oil if necessary. (See FUELS AND LUBRICANTS section for hydraulic oil specifications.)
