Wet System

Symptom Problem Solution

Loss of liquid pressure.

Pump clutch disengaged.

Engage pump drive clutch.

Spray tank empty.

Fill tank.

Pump running too slow.

Increase engine speed.

Line strainer clogged.

Clean strainer.

Pump drive belt broken or slipping.

Replace belt. Check belt tensioner.

Leaks in the suction line or suction line fittings. (Hard to locate because air leaks inward.)

Replace hose and tighten fittings.

Obstruction in suction hose or pressure hose to valve, such as deteriorating hose liner. (Not noticeable from outside.)

Remove obstruction or replace with new hose if hose is faulty.

Collapsed suction hose.

Replace with new hose.

Nozzle tips (orifices) worn, increasing flow and reducing pressure.

Replace nozzle tips with new tips calibrated for the application desired.

Pump shaft seal leaking.

Check seal and replace if worn.

Faulty pressure gauge sender.

Check pressure sender.

Faulty control valve.

Repair valve.

Erratic pressure reading.

Air trapped in system.

Loosen lines and operate pump to release trapped air.

Flowmeter dirty or stuck.

Clean flowmeter.

Pump not primed.

Air in pump.

Clean bleed tube.

Unable to obtain desired pressure at high flow rate.

Solution flow is by-passing.

Reduce agitation.
