Attaching Machine with Lift-Assist to 8000 Series Tractor

causym CAUTION: Escaping fluid under pressure can penetrate the skin causing serious injury to you or others. Avoid the hazard by relieving pressure before disconnecting hydraulic or other lines. Tighten all connections before applying pressure. Search for leaks with a piece of cardboard. Protect hands and body from high pressure fluids.

If an accident occurs, see a doctor immediately. Any fluid injected into the skin must be surgically removed within a few hours or gangrene can result. Doctors unfamiliar with this type of injury can call the Deere & Company Medical Department in Moline, Illinois, or other knowledgeable source.

1. Push SCV No. 1 switch (A) forward (down) to "float" position to allow top link cylinder to extend or retract for easier hook-up. Float symbol (B) appears on display under SCV No. 1.

2. Back tractor to implement using hitch control switch to attach implement.

A-Auxiliary Quick-coupler
B-SCV No. 1
C-Center Link Cylinder

NOTE: If center link cylinder must be lengthened, place SCV No. 1 switch in "float" and pull cylinder out and tip quick-coupler back. SCV No. 1 switch can be used to shorten center link cylinder for final hook-up adjustment.

3. Lock quick-coupler latches.

4. Raise parking stands and lower implement to the ground. Leave hitch control in full down position.

causym CAUTION: To prevent serious injury or death to you or others, place hitch control lever in full down position. This will prevent inadvertent raise if implement becomes disconnected from tractor.

5. Turn tractor OFF.

6. Connect the three implement hydraulic hoses to tractor auxiliary quick-coupler (A), SCV No. 1 (B) and center link cylinder (C).

7. Connect seven-pin implement warning light harness at back of tractor.

8. Connect nine-pin implement connector (A) at back of tractor.

NOTE: Implement harness must be connected for proper operation.

9. Start tractor.

10. Pull SCV No. 1 switch rearward (arrow) to detent position (until click is felt). Machine should raise fully and lift-assist wheel lower to ground. Continuous "C" symbol should appear on display (B).

11. Push SCV No. 1 switch forward to lower machine. Lift-assist wheel should lift completely off ground.
