1. Start tractor, hydraulic function lever in neutral.

2. (Tractors Without Electronic Hitch.) Move the hydraulic function control lever to the rear position and lock it in place.

3. (55 and 60 Series Large Row-Crop Tractors With Electric Hitch-Single Lever Control) Turn hitch control switch to OFF. Pull and lock the hydraulic function control lever rearward.

4. (7000 Series) Pull and lock the hydraulic function control lever rearward.

5. (8000 Series) Pull SCV No. 1 switch rearward to detent position (until click is felt) and release.

The machine should be lifted by the 3-point hitch and the lift-assist wheel. The lift-assist wheel should be on the ground when the machine is fully raised. If this action does not result, check orifice and see your John Deere dealer for hose diagrams.

6. Moving the hydraulic function control lever forward should lower the machine and raise the lift-assist wheel off the ground.

NOTE: (All tractors except 8000 series) It is necessary to hold lever ahead until frame gauge wheels contact the ground. Forward motion of the machine with lever ahead is required to completely lower frame.

7. (8000 Series Tractors) Push SCV No. 1 switch forward to detent position (until click is felt) and release. Machine should lower and lift-assist wheel should fully raise off ground.

Check the operation of the lift-assist wheel again. If problem persists, see your John Deere dealer.
