Clean V-Ripper thoroughly to remove dirt and trash.
Protect standards and points from rust by applying a light coat of oil or grease.
Lubricate machine. (See Lubrication and Maintenance section.)

Apply a good rust preventative such as John Deere Plow Bottom Black Paint when storing V-Ripper for the season. John Deere Plow Bottom Black Paint is available in brush-type or in 0.035 L (12 oz.) spray cans.
