Checking Standard Bushings

NOTE: Before checking bushing wear, spring must be compressed until tension is off pivot bolt. Use special spring compression tool provided with machine. (See REPLACING SPLIT-TENSION BUSHINGS in this section.)

A new shank assembly could have 0-19 mm (0-3/4 in.) side-to-side movement.

When shank side-to-side movement measures 38-51 mm (1-1/2-2 in.) at sweep (A), replace worn chrome and/or split-tension bushings (B). (See REPLACING SPLIT-TENSION BUSHINGS in this section.)
