Attaching Machine Equipped With Hydraulic Front-End Frame Hold-Down Attachment

IMPORTANT: Use hydraulic front-end frame hold-down attachment ONLY with tractors equipped with closed center hydraulics.

1. Attach machine hitch link to tractor drawbar. Retain hitch pin with locking lever.

2. Engage tractor parking brake and/or place transmission in PARK, shut off engine, and remove key.

3. Plug wing-fold hoses in SCV II couplers (A).

IMPORTANT: When attaching TOUCHSET machine, correctly connect depth control hoses to couplers. If hose connections are reversed, machine will not respond to TOUCHSET controls.

4. With or Without Touchset -Push depth control hoses in SCV I couplers (B). On TOUCHSET machines, be sure oil flow agrees with symbols on hose identification tag. EXTEND hose always goes in left-hand coupler.

IMPORTANT: If using open SCV for by-pass, place SCV lever in FLOAT position when operating. FLOAT function must be reset every time tractor engine is shut off and re-started.

5. Install depth control by-pass hose (C) in SCV III left-hand coupler.

6. Install pressure hose (D) in SCV III right-hand coupler.

NOTE: For John Deere 7000 Series tractors, install SCV lever lock clip or rubber stop to hold SCV lever in detent. (See INSTALLING LEVER LOCK CLIP-JOHN DEERE 7000 SERIES TRACTORS or INSTALLING RUBBER STOP-JOHN DEERE 7000 SERIES TRACTORS in Preparing Tractor section.)

7. Place SCV III lever (A) in detent.

8. John Deere 8000/9000 Series Tractors Only -Adjust time setting to CONTINUOUS.

9. With Touchset Depth Control -Attach TOUCHSET wiring harness to 9-pin terminal connector (B).

IMPORTANT: When transporting machine, position jack handle on top to prevent jack damage.

10. Raise jack (A) and pin in transport position.

11. With Rolling Baskets (Not Shown) -Raise rear parking stand to transport/field position. Retain with storage pin and spring lock pin. (See RAISING AND LOWERING REAR PARKING STAND-MACHINES EQUIPPED WITH SPIKE-TOOTH HARROW WITH ROLLING BASKET ATTACHMENT.)
