Detaching Machine from Tractor

CAUTION: To prevent serious injury or death:

Stand clear of machine when raising and lowering wings.

Always locate machine on level ground when raising and lowering wings.

Never raise or lower wings when moving.

Tongue can whip upward when unhitching. Always lower machine to ground before removing hitch pin.

1. With transmission in PARK, start tractor engine and pull SCV II lever (A) rearward to raise wings to stops. If wings do not rest against stops when fully raised, see ADJUSTING WING-FOLD OPERATION in Operating Machine section.

2. Pull SCV I lever (A) rearward to raise machine fully.

3. Return SCV III lever (B) to NEUTRAL if used.

4. Close transport lock-up valve (A).

5. Pin jack (A) in storage position, and remove weight from drawbar by turning handle.

6. Disconnect warning light plug (A) from tractor.

CAUTION: Serious injury can result if hydraulic hoses are disconnected under pressure.

JOHN DEERE 7000 SERIES TRACTORS: Shut off tractor engine. Work SCV levers back and forth before disconnecting hoses.

JOHN DEERE 8000/9000 SERIES TRACTORS: Place SCV II lever in FLOAT position before disconnecting hoses.

If equipped with hydraulic front-end frame hold-down attachment, place SCV III lever in NEUTRAL position before disconnecting hoses.

7. If Wings are Folded -Before disconnecting folding cylinder hydraulic hoses, relieve pressure from wing-fold hydraulic system.

8. Disconnect wing-fold (A) and depth control (B) hoses from couplers.

9. Hydraulic Front-End Frame Hold-Down -Disconnect by-pass hose (C) and pressure hose (D) from SCV III.

10. John Deere 8000/9000 Series Tractors Only -Disconnect TOUCHSET wiring harness from 9-pin connector (E) (if equipped).

11. Remove safety chain from tractor.

CAUTION: If equipped with rolling baskets, tongue can whip upward when unhitching. To avoid injury, lower rear parking stand to ground before removing hitch pin. (See RAISING AND LOWERING PARKING STAND.)

12. Remove hitch pin (A) from drawbar. Drive tractor away from machine.

13. Place hydraulic hoses and warning light plug (B) in machine hitch storage positions.
