Product Identification Number

Each machine has identification plate (A) shown. Letters and numbers stamped on plates identify a component or assembly. ALL these characters are needed when ordering parts or identifying a machine for any John Deere product support program. When ordering parts, always furnish model and serial number as given on serial number plate. Serial number is above bar code and machine model and type is below bar code. It will assist your John Deere dealer in giving you prompt and efficient service.

They are also needed for law enforcement, to trace your machine if it is ever stolen.
