Changing Engine Oil and Filter

1. Remove drain plug from oil pan and drain oil into suitable container for safe disposal, then replace plug.

NOTE: Follow steps 2-5 only if oil filter is to be changed (after first 100 hours and every 200 hours thereafter).

2. Turn filter (C) counterclockwise to remove.

3. Clean filter mounting surface.

4. Apply a thin film of oil to sealing ring of new element.

5. Install and tighten new element until sealing ring contacts mounting surface, then turn an additional 3/4 to 1-1/4 turn. Do not overtighten.

6. Remove cap (B). Refill crankcase with proper oil. (See DIESEL ENGINE OIL in Lubrication and Maintenance section for proper oil specifications.) See Specifications section for oil capacity.

7. Start engine and check filter and drain plug for leaks.

8. Stop engine and check oil level on dipstick (A), and fill if necessary.
