Starting Engine in Cold Weather

causym CAUTION: If machine should suddenly move forward when starting, serious injury or death to you or others could result. Make sure park brake is set, transmission is in NEUTRAL, and no one is standing near the stripper when you start machine.

Before starting engine, be sure there is plenty of fresh air to prevent buildup of harmful gases which could cause serious injury or death to you or others.

NOTE: An electric starting aid is standard equipment on 7460 Cotton Stripper.

1. Position hydro lever and gear transmission lever in NEUTRAL.

2. Place throttle switch in idle position.

3. Turn lighting and accessory switches off before attempting to start engine.

4. Turn key switch to ON position.

5. Disengage fan.

6. Depress electric starting aid button (A) for 15-20 seconds.

IMPORTANT: Starter damage can result if operated for more than 30 seconds. DO NOT operate starter for more than 30 seconds at a time. If engine does not start, wait at least two minutes before trying again.

causym CAUTION: Sound horn to warn bystanders the engine is going to be started.

7. Turn key switch fully clockwise to engage starter. Release key when engine starts.

8. Repeat steps 6 and 7 if engine does not start.
