Symptom Problem Solution

Ground travel speed erratic. 1

Low on oil.

Check for leaks and correct. Fill reservoir.

Oil leak in hydraulic lines.

Tighten hydraulic line connections and hose clamps or replace as necessary.

Plugged oil filter.

Change filter element.

Hydro lever creeps toward neutral.

Replace friction washers and/or springs as necessary.

Drive systems unable to maintain charge pressure.

See your John Deere dealer.

Stripper not responding to hydro lever.

Low on oil.

Check for oil leaks and correct. Fill reservoir.

Linkage loose or broken.

Check and repair as needed.

Broken or leaking hydraulic line connection.

Check and repair or replace as needed.

Leaking or broken O-ring.

Check and repair, as necessary.

Plugged oil filter.

Change filter element.

Air in system.

Tighten connections, hose clamps and check for broken hydraulic lines.

1 When operating in temperatures below -12.2°C (10°F) run-in stripper for 10-15 minutes to allow oil in hydrostatic drive system to warm up.

Check and repair as needed.

Broken or leaking O-ring.

Check and repair or replace as needed.

Improper functioning of engine.

Drive system unable to maintain or buildup pressure.

See your John Deere dealer.

Stripper will not start or will start when hydro lever is in any operational position.

Safety switch out of adjustment, faulty wiring or inoperative switch.

Adjust or replace.

Transmission breather leaking oil.

Overfilled transmission.

Remove level plug and drain excess oil.
