Preparing Engine for Storage

causym CAUTION: Gasoline is highly flammable and can cause serious injury or death to you or others if ignited. Do not use gasoline as a cleaning agent when preparing engine for storage.

1. Wash outside of engine thoroughly with a safe solvent.

2. Clean air cleaner. (See CLEAN AND INSPECT PRIMARY ELEMENT in Engine and Drive Train section.)

3. With engine warm, drain crankcase. Replace filter and fill crankcase. (See EVERY 200 HOURS in Lubrication and Maintenance section.)

IMPORTANT: Do not drain cooling system to protect against freezing. Heater does not drain completely, so damage would result.

4. Drain, flush, and refill cooling system with coolant. Turn heater on and run engine until it reaches operating temperature.
