Driving/Transporting Machine on Public Roads
CAUTION:
When transporting the machine on a road or highway at night or during the day, use lights and devices for adequate warning to operators of other vehicles or serious injury or death can result to you or others. Check local governmental regulations. Various safety devices are available from your John Deere dealer. Keep safety items in good condition. Replace missing or damaged items.
CAUTION:
To avoid motorist confusion, do not operate work lights when transporting on public roadways.
Raise header completely and lower service locks over cylinder rods.
Latch brakes together. (See Travel Brake Pedals in Operators Station section).
NOTE:
Hazard lights will not work with field lights on.
Turn hazard light switch (A) on for both daytime and nighttime road travel. Turn on road lights (B) for night time travel. Warning lights automatically operate when hazard lights are on.
Always use turn signals to warn traffic of your actions. (See Turn Signals in the Operators Station section).
Reduce ground speed when traveling over rough ground.
Drive as far to the side of the road as safely possible.
Reduce speed when turning.
NEVER drive with basket in unload position.
Check clearance before driving under electric wires, bridges, or through doorways. Lower radio antenna. (See Specifications section for height and width of machine).
