Operator Presence System Check

causym CAUTION: Make sure everyone and everything is clear of row units before engaging. If any of the steps described do not give the proper result, DO NOT attempt to adjust them yourself. Failure to adhere to these directives can result in serious injury or death to you or others. (See your local John Deere dealer for service).

FOUR STEP CHECK

Step One

1. Verify parking brake is engaged.

2. Verify transmission and hydro lever are in neutral.

3. Sit squarely in seat. Start engine, and run at idle.

4. Engage row units, cleaner, and compactor.

5. Lower units into header height control sensing position.

6. The row units should be operating and remain operating. If not, see your John Deere dealer. DO NOT attempt to adjust them yourself.

Step Two

1. Raise completely off operator's seat; then sit back down within 2 seconds. Compactor will shut off
while out of the seat and there will be a brief audible warning.

2. Compactor will resume operating and cleaner and row units will continue to operate without indication of stopping.

Step Three

1. Remain in operator's seat for 10 seconds before proceeding.

2. Again, raise completely off seat. Wait for a minimum of 12 seconds before sitting back down.

3. Row units and compactor should stop operating within 4 seconds of raising off seat. Cleaner should stop operating after an additional 4 seconds.

4. Row units and cleaner should NOT resume operation when operator sits back down (until STEP FOUR [see below] is completed).

Step Four

1. Sit squarely in the operators seat, turn row units and cleaner switches OFF, reduce engine speed to low idle, and then turn on cleaner and row unit switches.

2. Row units and cleaner should begin operating again.
