Fire Prevention

To reduce the chance of a fire, be sure to follow these important procedures:

  • ADJUST and maintain row units and cleaner regularly.
  • BE ALERT for rocks, wood or debris that can lodge in row units or cleaner and cause sparks.
  • REPAIR leaks and clean up all fuel/oil spills before cotton lint or trash can mix in and become very combustible and hard to control if ignited.
  • DO NOT unload near electrical lines.
  • DO NOT unload into the wind, cotton and trash could blow into engine compartment and ignite.
  • DO NOT refuel with engine running, while smoking or around open flame.
  • AVOID SPARKS when using a battery charger or booster battery.
  • INSPECT all bearings daily for signs of overheating or excessive looseness. Replace promptly.
