Installing Cross Auger Extension(s)

1. Remove existing components and hardware from auger extension.

NOTE: Check extension for sagging or unlevel condition by running a string across the front of the extensions. Add shim(s) (E), as necessary, at locations shown to angle extension slightly forward and upward.

2. Attach left-hand auger extension to main frame using seven M12 x 35 flange head cap screws (A) and nuts and two M16 x 100 flange head cap screw (B) and nut.

3. Attach straps (D) to frame using four M12 x 25 flange head cap screws (C) and nuts.

4. Attach support plate to front side of auger extension using four M10 x 20 round-head bolts (A) and nuts.

NOTE: Truss assemblies are only used on 8 row head frames. Eight row narrow configurations use truss on right-hand side only.

5. Attach truss to main frame and auger extension using four M12 x 55 flange head cap screws (A), 4 washers and nuts and seven M12 x 40 flange head cap screws (C), 10 washers and nuts. Do not tighten at this time.

6. Install 3.175 mm (0.125 in.) shims (B) and 6.35 mm (0.25 in.) shims (C). Gap must be within specification once shims have been installed.

Specification

Outer Truss-to-Main Frame -Maximum Gap 1.5 mm (0.060 in.)

7. Tighten flange head cap screws (A and C) using the following sequence.

a. Outer end of truss.

b. Center of truss.

c. Inner end of truss with shims.

8. Repeat Steps 1-5 for right-hand side of machine with 8 row head.

NOTE: For 4RW and 5RN configurations, with a single piece auger, center bearing hanger bracket is not required.

Auger flighting Orientation:

  • 8RW configurations where augers have double-flighting, orientate flighting so paddles are all approximately 90° from one another.

  • Single flighting augers should have paddles orienated 180° from one another.

9. Align lugs in end of right-hand auger (A) with drive disk notches (B).
