Battery Charge Gauge (Voltmeter)Charge gauge (voltmeter) (A) shows battery and charging system voltage. With key switch ON and engine off, voltmeter needle should register slightly above red/black band (12.0 volts). Gauge needle in first red band indicates a discharged battery or low charging system voltage. Check battery condition and alternator belt tension. With the engine running: Needle in center band indicates that charging system voltage is normal (at least 12 volts). Gauge needle in far red band indicates an overcharge condition.
