Engine Coolant Temperature Indicator

IMPORTANT: Prevent possible engine damage. Do not stop engine if indicator comes on and gauge needle enters red zone or coolant temperature will rise even higher, resulting in machine damage. Reduce load and run engine at slower speed to lower coolant temperature.

Red indicator light (A) comes on, STOP indicator (B) flashes and a pulsed warning alarm sounds when engine coolant overheats. Reduce load immediately and run engine at slower speed. Inspect for debris around radiator. Check for low coolant level in recovery tank.

Observe temperature gauge (C) while operating. Shortly after the engine is started, the needle of the coolant gauge should start to rise. If needle enters red high temperature warning zone, reduce load immediately and run engine at slower speed to lower coolant temperature.

Should coolant temperature continue to rise, immediately shut engine off without waiting for cool down. Inspect for plugged radiator, side screens or coolant leakage.
