1. Position entire machine on the cotton rows. Drive and guide wheels must be in the field, on the rows, and at the same level. Place transmission and hydro handle in neutral.

2. Verify hydraulic system is warmed up and operate engine at mid throttle.

3. Press the bottom of all units raise/lower button (A). Header will lower to operating height determined by rockshaft header height control knob (B).

4. Adjust rockshaft header height control knob (B) clockwise to raise cross auger, counterclockwise to lower cross auger as necessary for your conditions. Adjust cross auger height so there is 25 mm (1 in.) space (C) between row unit (D) and cross auger frame (E). This will allow the unit to drop approximately 76 mm (3 in.) and raise 229 mm (9 in.) to accommodate varying field conditions. Raise header and then lower it again using all units raise/lower button (A). Header will now lower to new setting.

5. Either of the two mounting holes (F) can be used to level row units when additional row units are added to the cross auger.

6. Adjust height of each individual row unit as necessary using corresponding knob (A) on the steering column.

causym CAUTION: If you or others become entangled in a row unit, serious injury or death can result. Make sure transmission and hydro handle remain in neutral position and stand clear of units during testing. Keep away from areas which might pinch or crush as units move up and down.

7. Raise header until units are off the ground, then lower header to down stop setting. Units should return to set height position.

NOTE: Set header height so units are positioned no lower than necessary to strip cotton.

9. Set rate response. (See Header Height Control Rate Response Adjustment in this section).

10. Operate machine and observe HHC system. If an individual row unit must be lifted to its maximum height to clear an obstacle, press and release corresponding button (C) on steering column. Once obstacle has been cleared, press and release corresponding button (C) again or press the bottom of all units raise/lower button on hydro handle to lower row unit to previously set height.
